    Highway Transport's new Mack Trucks:

At Highway, we recognize that our drivers spend more time in their trucks than just about
anywhere else; therefore, we strive to keep all of our trucks up-to-date with excellent
    maintenance.

Highway’s capital investment in equipment for 2017 is $8.4 million.

We added 186 new tractors over the past four years, and we are buying another 58 in 2017. Eighty percent of the company tractors in the fleet were specified with Mack’s mDrive 12-speed automated transmissions. Drivers have been very satisfied with the mDrive transmission. Safety technology in the tractors includes Omnitracs on-board computers used for electronic driver logs and Bendix Advanced with collision avoidance. New tractors and trailers are specified with Bendix disc brakes.Jost fifthwheels with a 52-inch height are standard for the fleet. Product-handling equipment includes a twin-cylinder, 37-cfm air compressor to supply vehicle needs and handle air offloading; Roper product pump; aluminum hose rack; and product hoses from Hart Industries.

    Among our Equipment Expenditures are:

    • (50) 2017 MACK CXU613 tractors, (48 sleepers and 2 day cabs)
    • (15) 2017 Brenner DOT 407 6500 gallon chemical tanks

    New Truck Features:

    • Automatic Transmission (See more below)
    • Disc Brakes
    • Larger sleeping berth
    • Radios featuring AM/FM, CD, Weatherband, MP3, Bluetooth, and USB connect
    • Headliner, door panels, and interior upholstery are the “Grand Touring”

    Automatic Transmissions:

We now have 66 tractors with automatic transmissions in our fleet. The change to the automatic
transmission, we believe, is the correct direction for our future fleet.

The engine and drivetrain is the Mack MP8 445 HP 13 Liter Econodyne engine coupled to the
    mDrive Automated 12 speed transmission.

This engine / transmission combination continuously monitors changes in grade, vehicle speed,
    acceleration, torque demand, and weight.

With the engine and transmission in constant communication, the mDrive automatically selects
the best gear for the engine.
